House of Henmar’s tagline is Punch today in the face, one glorious outfit at a time.
In Henmar’s house, we love a glorious outfit. People regularly ask me where I get Margot and Henry’s clothes. Over the past few years, I’ve uncovered the underbelly of upscale children’s fashion – especially trendy toddler clothes.
High-end brands exist for women’s and children’s fashion, ad nauseum. At Henmar’s house, these are some of our favorite kids’ brands.
The kids’ price tags for these stores (or any of the brands above) are not for the faint of wallet. Which is why I wait for end-of-season markdowns, Black Friday sales, and outlet popups so I can score goodies for $5 to $20 or (gulp) a little more.
Top 20 Kids’ Brands We Love to Wear at Our House
- Fin & Vince (Fin and Vince): Playful and colorful (mustard, emerald, scarlet, cobalt) wear that has a vintage, New England, surfer beach campout, blueberry picking feel. Shop Fin & Vince.
- Alice & Ames (Alice and Ames): Twirls for days in their legendary dresses, plus cozy bubble rompers, tops, bottoms, pajamas, and leos. Shop Alice and Ames.
- Childhoods Clothing: Gender neutral joggers, hoodies, shorties, and more. Super beloved brand with large cult following. Shop Childhoods.
- Nadadelazos: Playful, Spanish brand that makes quirky, sustainable clothing from a child’s perspective. Shop Nadadelazos.
- Hugo Loves Tiki: Modern and maximalist brand with bold, playful prints. Our favorites are marching ants and PEZ. Shop Hugo Loves Tiki.
- Well Dressed Wolf: Well Dressed Wolf is all about gorgeous, timeless clothing for girls and boys, including exquisite dresses with ruffle detail, smocked bodices, and underskirts for extra twirl. The fabric washes amazingly well. A pretty-as-a-picture brand that is tough enough for daily wear. Shop Well Dressed Wolf.
- Mini Rodini: Swedish brand with big, bold style and playful prints, fun patterns, and unique hand illustrated designs. Shop Mini Rodini.
- Oeuf NYC: It’s not just furniture. Oeuf NYC has stylish kids and baby clothing, including the softest, most beautiful knits. Mix of bold, retro style prints and colors with timeless vintage styles. Collared onesies and tops are especially amazing. Shop Oeuf NYC.
- Gus + Steel (Gus and Steel): Joggers, hoodies, ribbed knit separates, tees, and other casual separates for everyday play. It has a definite relaxed Northwest vibe. Shop Gus + Steel.
- Jamie Kay: Beautifully designed clothing that has an ethereal, fairy garden party in the woods or wheat field sort of feel. Browns, plums, tans, soft blacks, and vintage floral prints. Everything Jamie Kay has a timeless, vintage feel and has major cottagecore vibes. Shop Jamie Kay.
- Hanna Andersson: Colorful and playful Swedish inspired brand with clothing for babies, kids, and adults. I love their toddler dresses, leggings, and matching holiday family pajamas. Shop Hanna Andersson.
- Birinit Petit: Spanish fashion brand that sells exquisite baby and children’s clothing with old world 1950’s Mediterranean charm. Floral prints mixed with checks and gingham, open back dresses, and loose blousy tops for boys and girls. Their clothing is like art – and evokes so much nostalgia. Shop this Spanish brand on Shan & Toad.
- Gladfolk: Sells the best tees ever. I love all the modern, typographic prints and designs. Our favorites are “Oh My Darling”, “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic”, and “It’s All Good in the Childhood”. Shop Gladfolk.
- ZARA Kids: Modern and stylish clothing for babies and kids. Softer colors, quirky prints, and mini versions of trendy adult styles. Their Disney prints, little girl dresses (in thicker, textured fabric), and baby wear are outstanding. Shop ZARA.
- Kate Quinn: Affordable luxury for kids: organic clothing with clean lines, saturated colors, and variety of prints ranging from quirky and juvenile to sophisticated and classic. Shop Kate Quinn.
- Little Road Co (Lulu and Roo): Little Road Co sells our favorite joggers, shorts, and fleece tops. Similar to Childhoods, the retailer sells hoodies, joggers, and everyday staples built for play. But Little Road Co also sells a wide range of adorable baby clothes. Shop Little Road Co.

My daughter’s favorite is a butter yellow pinafore style dress that buttons down the front and has red and white vichy trim. Shop The Sunday Collective.
- The Simple Folk: Ethical, sustainable clothing for children. The Simple Folk brand features a natural color palette, minimalist lines, and super-soft fabric. Most of their staples are designed to be gender neutral. Their fisherman style rompers are amazing. Shop The Simple Folk.
- Art Class: An artistic and modern Target children’s clothing brand. Creative prints (including hand drawn graphics) and garments with a little extra flair. Our favorites were a cockatoo sweatshirt (that I sold used for $12) and a quilted kimono style jacket with geometric print. Shop Art Class.
- The Bee & the Fox: Ok, so I’ve only bought mama size t-shirts here. But I wear them all the time and I love them so much. All of their T-shirts and sweatshirts, for adults and kids, are amazing.
