Mini Rodini is a high-end Scandinavian childrenswear brand that was founded in 2006. The founder, Cassandra Rhodin, created the line as a tribute to all children, their imagination, and the sense that everything is possible.

Mini Rodini is one of the most sustainable clothing brands on the market. Their impact on not only the environment, but also human health, is at the forefront of the brand. They aim to use fabrics and materials that are sustainable for the earth and human health.

What is Mini Rodini?

Mini Rodini is a high-end children’s wear brand with a vision to make it both easy and exciting for parents to buy better products for their kids. This extends not only to the designs but also to the environmental and ethical aspects of production.

The brand does not own any factories, instead, they share the responsibility with other brands. The brands utilize sourcing of Fairtrade and SA-8000 certified factories with sustainability and fair labor is a priority.

Social rights, responsible waste, reducing chemicals, implementing living wages, and providing a safe working environment are all part of Mini Rodini’s Code of Conduct.

Is Mini Rodini a good brand?

Mini Rodini is the ultimate brand for parents who do not want to sacrifice style for sustainability. The garments are not only fun to wear and look at, but are also produced in a way that is kinder to the environment and the people behind it. The brand truly cares about the environment, its workers, and consumers.

They also push their consumers to break patterns and set the standard for future generations. They urge consumers to ask brands about their sustainability work and support the frontrunners. They also advocate repairing and re-wearing, instead of buying, and believe that high-quality and long-lasting designs are essential for building a sustainable wardrobe.

Mini Rodini Size Chart

According to Mini Rodini, you should find your child’s size based on their height in centimeters. For example, size 104/110 is the right size for a child measuring 104 to 110 cm. If your child is between sizes, select the closet size. If your child measures 115 cm, for example, you would want to size up to 116/122 cm.

What Makes Mini Rodini unique?

Mini Rodini offers high-quality, high-style clothing that does not sacrifice the environment. Sustainability is at the forefront of the brand. Being one of the most sustainable brands on the market, the collections are made with over 99% sustainable materials.

They also have a “Living Wage Project” which gives extra money to workers to provide a living wage to their workers, not just a minimum wage. A living wage is the estimated wage that should cover a person’s basic needs such as food, housing, clothes, healthcare, and education, as well as the ability to make some savings. The minimum wage does not necessarily mean it is a living wage.

Mini Rodini researches living wage estimates in the factories they source from to work out a system to fill the gaps. The extra money given to factory workers is not transferred onto the end as a consumer price increase, but yet it is taken as an additional mark-up for each piece that is produced on the brand’s end. This project first started in 2014 in India and continues to operate and expand today.

Why is Mini Rodini so popular?

Parents have peace of mind knowing that Mini Rodini cares about the safety and sustainability of the clothing the children wearing their garments. They have a rigorous policy on what materials they consider to be sustainably better and chemical safety plays a large role in design decisions. Rather than having design decisions dictate which chemicals they use, they do it the other way around. The types of chemicals they allow dictate how they design their products.

Their prints, designs, and materials are also top-tier. The clothing is fun, funky, and quirky which children love. It is done in an elevated way, where it can easily translate to the parent’s personal style as well. This makes shopping for kids so much fun because the children see fun animals or colors, but the parent sees a beautifully constructed dress that can be worn in multiple different ways and will be able to be worn by siblings and beyond.

Is Mini Rodini organic?

Yes, Mini Rodini is organic! Mini Rodini sets the standard for organic, safe, sustainable, and ethical clothing production.

The brand uses materials that are not only organic but also certified, which proves to be a larger distinction than one may initially think. Founder, Cassandra Rhodin explains, “We as consumers have to be more aware! It’s not enough to only buy organic cotton, if it’s not certified it could mean the cotton is organic but the production is conventional, so we could still have hazardous chemicals in the production.” When you buy clothes made from organic materials, make sure to look for GOTS certification.

Mini Rodini maintains various certifications and standards covering their materials, production, and the employees in the factories they are working with. Some of these certifications include GOTS, Fairtrade, Oeko-Tex, OCS, Bionic Finish ECO, GRS, FCA, and SA-8000.

For ethical reasons, Mini Rodini does not use skins, suede, fur, feather, wool with mulesing, or conventional silk in any products or collaborations.

Mini Rodini not only ensures their main fabrics are sustainable, but also their trims, labels, and packaging. The majority of these are organic, recycled, or biodegradable. Read more information about their materials.
