Tiny Whales is a Southern California based brand founded by Shaun and Brittany, a husband and wife team. The brand’s style is rooted in the sunny nostalgia of their youth. The Tiny Whales label boasts that it’s always rad, never fake.
The brand produces Southern California hip tanks, tees, rompers, shorts, bucket hats, and other apparel and accessories. Tiny Whales are garments with cool graphics and screen printings. Their motto is “We make shirts they’ll refuse to take off”.
Tiny Whales has a cool, beachfront-skatepark vibe.
What is Tiny Whales?
Tiny Whales is a hip kids’ brand “built for rad times”. Based in Los Angeles, this children’s clothing line produces ultra rad casual wear separates for kids. All garments are ethically made in Los Angeles.
Tiny Whales clothing has slogans, prints, and slouchy cuts that express their young wearers’ personality. The clothing is expressive, cool, and comfy: it’s clothing kids don’t want to take off.
What does Tiny Whales sell?
Tiny Whales sells kids’ clothing and accessories. Some of the items include:
- Sweatshirts and Hoodies
- Trucker Hats
- Bucket Hats
Why is Tiny Whales so popular?
Tiny Whales clothing is popular because the style is a hit with moms, dads, and kids. Pleasing all three is already a feat.
- Ultra Rad Style: Most “boy clothes” is preppy (classic), rainbow bright, cottage core, or super juvenile. Tiny Whales has a laid-back SoCo vibe with a beachy color palette, and cool prints, graphics, and typography.
- Caters to Boys: Plenty of fashion brands cater more to girls with boys as an after-thought. Tiny Whales has lots of great “girl” pieces, but it feels like a boys-first brand.
- Made in Los Angeles: Tiny Whales has major LA vibes because the brand is produced and manufactured in Los Angeles. Purchasing Tin Whales supports local workers, families, and businesses. “Keep it local” is one of Tiny Whales’ core values.
- Quality and Comfort: I’ve purchased a handful of Tiny Whales tees for my kiddos, and the fabric is cozy and soft. It also holds up well in the washer and dryer (my husband loves to toss everything in there on high heat). Cotton garments are pre-shrunk. Most are hand-dyed with non-toxic, water-based ink.
What sizes does Tiny Whales carry?
Tiny Whales carries sizes for infants, toddlers, boys, and girls. Sizes run from 6-12M to 12-14Y.
Does Tiny Whales run true to size?
In my experience, Tiny Whales clothing runs true to size but it is generously cut for a loose fit. There is not a size chart on the Tiny Whales website. I checked a number of size guides for Tiny Whales (for retailers who sell the label) and found only general, non-brand specific size charts.
This confirms my brand experience and suggests Tiny Whales does run true to size. Or rather, Tiny Whales runs true to its age label tag. So an 8-year-old would fit an 8Y tee while a 2-year-old toddler would fit a 2T.
If your child is large for their age, I would recommend sizing up.
Where can I get a Tiny Whales promo code?
You can get a Tiny Whales promo code directly on the TinyWhales.com website. If there’s a current promo code deal, the discount code will be widely visible.
New customers can always get a Tiny Whales promo code for 15% off when signing up for the newsletter.
You can also look for promo codes for third-party stockists who sell the label. Most of these retailers offer 10% to 15% off discounts for your first purchase.
When is the Tiny Whales Christmas sale?
Tiny Whales does have Black Friday and holiday sales – usually offering sitewide savings of 30% to 35% off.
Keeping with the seasonal theme, you can shop Tiny Whales Christmas themed prints that have a California-cool twist. “There’d better be cookies”, “Sleigh all day”, and “There’d better be latkes” are popular T-shirt slogans.
Mid-summer, the Tiny Whales Christmas page will look sparse. But the page is up yearlong and will beef out in fall and winter.
Where can I buy Tiny Whales?
In addition to shopping on the Tiny Whales website, you can shop Tiny Whales clothing at a number of stockists who sell the brand.
