Monica and Andy was founded in 2014 by Monica Royer. She wanted to offer kid-friendly fabrics free of lead, phthalates, and flame-retardants. However, the concept of the business began years earlier in 2010 with the birth of her daughter. Royer was unable to find soft organic fabrics that did not irritate her daughter’s delicate skin and she started dreaming of sustainable fabrics that were made without harmful dyes and chemicals.
With the help of her brother, Andy, who had extensive knowledge in the textile and e-commerce space, Monica and Andy was born.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, they were one of the first stores to shut down to keep their employees and customers safe. Overnight, their classes went from 30-40 attendees to thousands RSVPing for hot topic events.
